RS2 Software p.l.c. today announce the appointment of Alfredo S. Vitangcol Jr. as General Manager for RS2’s main offices in the Philippines which will be providing Implementation, Sales, Support and Development Services for the APAC region, effective immediately.
Alfredo S. Vitangcol Jr. is a seasoned IT professional. He has in-depth experience in various facets of IT management including project management, application development, IT controls and standards, system administration, network and telecommunications, computer operations, application testing, user support, IT training, business continuity and disaster recovery, among other things. Thirty years of his career has been spent managing the IT organisations of banks including Citibank, Saudi French Bank, Arab National Bank and Sterling Bank of Asia.
He implemented BankWORKS in several banks, both while he was Head of Professional Services in a Riyadh-based consulting firm and in his latest bank position.
Mr. Vitangcol was Chairman of the BANCNET EMV Task Force which studied, planned and started to implement the Philippine Central Bank mandate to migrate all the magnetic stripe cards of BANCNET’s 118 member-banks to EMV-chip cards by end 2016. This included the selection of the basis for the “Philippine” EMV chip standard, the formulation and dissemination of the associated technical specifications, the selection of appropriate EMV certification tools, and the modification of the consortium switch application.
